Where to spot
Endemic to southeastern Brazil, primarily in mountainous regions with Atlantic Forest remnants. Often seen over forest edges, clearings, and valleys.
How to spot
Look for a large, dark swift with two conspicuous white patches on its flanks, just below the wings. These patches are usually very obvious and differentiate it from other large swifts.
When to spot
Can be observed year-round within its range, though local movements may occur based on food availability. Most active during the day, especially in good weather.
