The Rodrigues Solitaire was a large, flightless pigeon endemic to the island of Rodrigues, related to the Dodo. Like its famous cousin, it suffered extinction, disappearing in the late 18th century due to human activity and introduced species.

How to spot
**Not applicable for wild observation.** Historical descriptions and skeletal remains indicate it was a terrestrial bird with drab, brownish plumage, similar to a turkey, and distinct bony growths on its wings.
