Spotted
The Colima Warbler is a rather plain warbler with olive-gray upperparts, grayish-white underparts, and a yellowish wash on its flanks and undertail coverts (crissum). It has a faint eye-ring.
Where to spot
Breeds in limited montane areas of southwestern Texas (USA) and northern Mexico. Winters in southwestern Mexico.
How to spot
Requires visiting specific high-elevation oak-juniper woodlands. Look for it foraging on or near the ground, often in dense vegetation. Listen for its distinctive, un-warbler-like song: a series of dry chirps and trills.
When to spot
Best observed on its breeding grounds from late spring to early summer. Less observable during migration or on wintering grounds due to its secretive nature and restricted range.

This species has one of the most restricted breeding ranges of any North American songbird, primarily nesting in a very specific high-elevation forest type in the Chisos Mountains of Texas and adjacent Mexico.
