Grace's Warbler is a slender, active warbler, primarily gray above with two prominent white wing bars, bright yellow throat and breast, and a distinctive broken eye-ring.
Where to spot
Breeds in the southwestern United States (Arizona, New Mexico, southern Colorado) and throughout much of Mexico. Winters in Mexico and Central America.
How to spot
Look in pine or pine-oak forests, typically foraging high in the canopy. Listen for its high-pitched, accelerating trill, often described as "weesa-weesa-weesa-weesee-weesee."
When to spot
Best observed on breeding grounds (late spring to summer) in pine forests. Also seen during spring (April-May) and fall (September-October) migration.
