The Vitelline Warbler is a small, bright warbler with a greenish-olive back, vibrant yellow underparts, and a yellowish head with a faint eye-ring. Males are brighter than females.
Where to spot
Endemic to the Cayman Islands and the Swan Islands in the western Caribbean.
How to spot
Look in scrubby woodlands, dry forests, and gardens. It typically forages low to mid-story. Listen for its buzzy, somewhat trilling song.
When to spot
Can be observed year-round within its resident island habitats. More vocal during the local breeding season.
This warbler is endemic to a few islands in the western Caribbean, notably the Cayman Islands and Swan Islands, where its evolution in isolation has led to a distinct species.
