Look for its green body, red crest, and distinct black bill in the mid to upper canopy. Listen for its loud, rolling 'caw-caw-caw' or 'kow-kow-kow' calls, often given rapidly.

The contrasting red and black bill is a unique characteristic that helps distinguish it from other similar green turaco species.
