Lowland primary and mature secondary humid evergreen forests across the Malay Peninsula, Sumatra, and Borneo.

Look for it in the mid-story and sub-canopy. Listen for its characteristic calls, often described as a series of soft, bubbling whistles. Its striking plumage makes it easily identifiable once seen.

Year-round. Most active during the day.
