How to spot
Look on the forest floor, often near fallen logs or dense undergrowth. Move slowly and quietly. Listen for its distinctive, often mournful, whistling call.
When to spot
Year-round resident. Most active during early morning and late afternoon. Can be more visible after rain when worms are plentiful.
