Where to spot
Humid montane forests, particularly mossy and cloud forests, on the islands of Luzon, Mindoro, and Negros in the Philippines.
How to spot
Look on the forest floor or low branches. Its overall grey color with the bright eye-ring and bill are excellent field marks. Listen for its varied vocalizations.
