The Orange-sided Thrush is a distinctively marked thrush found in the Lesser Sunda Islands. It has grey upperparts, a white belly, and striking orange flanks with dark spots.
Where to spot
Lowland and montane forests, woodlands, and dense secondary growth on Timor and other islands in the Lesser Sundas, Indonesia.
How to spot
Look on the forest floor or low branches. Its orange flanks are a key identification mark. It can be somewhat shy, so observe quietly.
When to spot
Year-round resident. Active during the cooler parts of the day.
