Eastern Australia, from Queensland to New South Wales, primarily in rainforests and wet sclerophyll forests.
How to spot
Look for them in the upper canopy of fruiting trees. Their calls are a distinctive series of grunts and growls. When flying, they have a powerful, direct flight.
When to spot
Year-round, but their movements are dictated by the availability of fruit. Early morning and late afternoon are good observation times.
