Dense undergrowth in wet forests, swamps, and along watercourses in the wetter southwestern corner of Western Australia.
How to spot
Look for them foraging low in dense, often tangled vegetation. Listen for their lively, high-pitched calls. They often move in small groups, so spotting one might lead to others.
When to spot
Most active in the early morning and late afternoon. Can be seen throughout the day, especially in overcast conditions.
