Where to spot
Endemic to the sandstone escarpments and plateau country of Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory, Australia.
How to spot
Requires patient searching of rocky, spinifex-covered terrain. Listen intently for its quiet, melodious calls, which are often the only clue to its presence in its rugged habitat.
When to spot
Active year-round, primarily during the cooler parts of the day, such as early morning and late afternoon.
