Where to spot
Endemic to the highlands of southern Mexico (Chiapas) and western Guatemala, specifically in humid montane cloud forests and pine-oak forests at high elevations.
How to spot
Look in dense, moss-laden cloud forests, especially at forest edges or clearings with tall vegetation. They often forage low to the ground. Due to its rarity and restricted range, a local guide is highly recommended.
