Where to spot
Resident in the highlands of southern Mexico (primarily Oaxaca and Chiapas) and adjacent western Guatemala.

Look in humid montane evergreen forests, particularly in areas with dense undergrowth. It can be elusive. Listen for its high-pitched, buzzy song, often a rapid trill.
