The Choco Warbler is a small, active warbler with an olive-green back, bright yellow underparts, and a gray head with a distinctive yellowish-green supercilium.
Where to spot
Endemic to the Chocó biogeographic region of western Colombia and northwestern Ecuador.
How to spot
Look in humid lowland and foothill forests, particularly in dense undergrowth and along stream banks. It often forages low. Listen for its rapid, somewhat accelerating song.
When to spot
Can be observed year-round within its resident humid lowland and foothill forest habitats. More vocal during the local breeding season.
This species is endemic to the highly biodiverse Chocó region of western Colombia and northwestern Ecuador, a globally important area for conservation due to its unique and threatened rainforests.
