Spotted
The Kafa White-eye is a species found in the highlands of Ethiopia, primarily within coffee forest habitats. It is characterized by its typical white eye-ring and greenish-yellow plumage.
Where to spot
Highland forests, particularly Afromontane cloud forests and coffee woodlands, in southwestern Ethiopia.
How to spot
Look for small, busy birds in the canopy and understory of highland forests. Their constant movement and high-pitched vocalizations often give away their presence.
When to spot
Active throughout the day, especially noticeable during peak flowering seasons when foraging for nectar and insects.
This species is particularly associated with native Afromontane cloud forests, especially those rich in wild coffee, playing a role in seed dispersal.
