The Spot-tailed Imperial-Pigeon (Ducula radiata) is a medium-sized imperial-pigeon endemic to Sulawesi, Indonesia. It gets its name from the distinctive black spots or bands visible on its undertail coverts and tail, setting it apart from other species.

Endemic to Sulawesi and some adjacent smaller islands in Indonesia. Primarily found in lowland to montane rainforests, typically at elevations between 200 and 1,700 meters.
How to spot
Scan the mid to upper canopy of forest trees. While they can be elusive, their large size and characteristic tail markings (if seen well) are key identifiers. Listen for their deep, booming calls which often reveal their presence.

Active year-round. Best observed during early morning or late afternoon when they are actively foraging for fruits. Listen for them during these periods.
