Crossley's Ground Thrush is a rare and distinctive thrush endemic to montane forests of Cameroon. It has a striking combination of olive-brown upperparts and heavily scaled underparts, with an orange bill.
Where to spot
Humid montane evergreen forests, particularly in primary forest, in western Cameroon, Africa.
How to spot
Extremely difficult to observe due to its rarity and dense habitat. Focus on pristine montane forests. Quiet observation and listening for its calls are essential.
When to spot
Year-round resident. Most active during the cooler parts of the day.
This thrush is highly localized and considered endangered due to ongoing habitat loss and fragmentation in its limited range.
