The Taita Thrush is a critically endangered thrush species endemic to a tiny forest fragment in Kenya. It is a relatively small, dark thrush with a pale belly.
Where to spot
Critically endangered, found only in fragmented montane cloud forests of the Taita Hills in southeastern Kenya.
How to spot
Extremely difficult to observe due to its rarity and restricted habitat. Requires dedicated conservation efforts and permissions to visit its highly sensitive range. Focus on dense undergrowth.
When to spot
Year-round resident. Best observed during early mornings and late afternoons. More vocal during the breeding season.
