Where to spot
Widespread across the Himalayas, mainland Southeast Asia, and southern China. Inhabits montane evergreen and mixed broadleaf forests, often in the mid-canopy and understory.
How to spot
Listen for its distinctive, often high-pitched chattering calls. Look for its rapid movements through the foliage. The bright blue on its wings and tail are unmistakable identification features.
