The Blue-capped Cordon-bleu is a stunning blue finch found in arid and semi-arid regions of East Africa. Males are almost entirely blue with a subtle reddish wash on the belly, lacking the red cheek patch of its relative.

Found in arid and semi-arid savannas, acacia scrub, and thornbush of East Africa, including Ethiopia, Somalia, Kenya, and Tanzania.
