Where to spot
Endemic to northeastern Queensland, Australia, primarily found in dense rainforests, often on the forest floor.
How to spot
Listen for loud rustling sounds among fallen leaves on the forest floor. Stay still and observe for its distinctive 'leaf-kicking' foraging behavior. Its white belly can be a useful identification mark.

Similar to its relatives, the White-bellied Logrunner employs a peculiar foraging method where it uses one foot to kick backward, creating a furrow in the leaf litter, then quickly inspects the exposed soil for food.
