Where to spot
Upper understory to canopy of humid evergreen forests, particularly in foothills and lower montane regions, primarily in central Peru.
How to spot
Look for mixed-species foraging flocks moving through the mid-story and canopy. Scan actively for its quick movements and listen for its soft, high-pitched calls.
When to spot
Resident year-round. Active during daylight hours, especially in the morning. Best found by observing mixed-species flocks.
This antwren is often a core member of mixed-species flocks in its habitat, benefitting from the collective foraging efforts and increased vigilance against predators.
