Where to spot
Inhabits the understory of humid lowland forests across the northern Amazon basin and the Guianas.
How to spot
Locate army ant swarms. This species can be quite bold and visible at ant fronts, sometimes even perching openly. Its distinctive white plumes are unmistakable.
When to spot
Year-round resident. Best observed during early morning and late afternoon when army ants are most active.
