Where to spot
Resident in the Andes Mountains from Venezuela south through Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia.
How to spot
Look in humid montane forests, often in the understory or along stream banks. It forages actively, gleaning insects. Listen for its distinctive, somewhat buzzy and rapidly delivered song.
When to spot
Can be observed year-round within its resident montane forest habitats. More vocal during the local breeding season.
