Spotted
The See-see Partridge is a small to medium-sized game bird found in arid and semi-arid regions of Western Asia and the Middle East. Its sandy plumage provides excellent camouflage against its stony, rocky habitats.
Where to spot
Found in arid and semi-arid stony hills, rocky slopes, and wadis with sparse vegetation, across its range from Turkey to parts of India.
How to spot
Listen intently for its distinctive 'see-see' call, which is often the first indication of its presence. Scan rocky areas carefully, as their camouflage makes them difficult to spot when still.
When to spot
Most active during the cooler parts of the day, such as early morning and late afternoon, when they feed.

The common name 'See-see' is onomatopoeic, derived from the bird's characteristic, loud, and repetitive call, which distinctly sounds like 'see-see, see-see-see.'
