Where to spot
Humid lowland and montane rainforests of Sulawesi, Togian, and Peleng islands in Indonesia.
How to spot
Look on the forest floor or low branches. Its bright rufous-red back is an unmistakable field mark. Listen for its varied calls.

Year-round resident. Active throughout the day, often more visible than many other ground-thrushes.
