Where to spot
Found in forests, woodlands, and scrubland across Southeast Asia, often in dense vegetation and bamboo thickets.
How to spot
Look in the mid-to-lower levels of dense forest. It can be quite secretive, but its distinctive appearance, especially the puffed back, makes it identifiable if seen well. Listen for its melodious song.
