Where to spot
Found on the islands of Java, Bali, and Lombok in Indonesia. Inhabits montane and submontane forests, typically at higher elevations.
How to spot
Scan the mid to upper canopy of montane forests, particularly near fruiting trees. While its pink head is striking, it can still be camouflaged by dense foliage. Listening for its deep, resonant cooing calls can help in detection.
