Widespread throughout New Guinea, inhabiting forests, woodlands, savannas, parks, and gardens.
How to spot
Look for small, bright yellow-green birds with a prominent white eye-ring, moving rapidly through foliage. Listen for their characteristic high-pitched, warbling song and frequent 'chip' calls.
When to spot
Active year-round. Most visible during early morning and late afternoon as they actively forage for insects and nectar.
This species is known for its adaptability, inhabiting diverse environments from lowland forests to montane regions across the vast island of New Guinea.
