Where to spot
Endemic to the island of Java, Indonesia. Inhabits various habitats including forests, forest edges, gardens, and plantations, from lowlands to mountains.
How to spot
Look for its bright white eye-ring, yellowish throat, and olive-green upperparts. Often found in active flocks, foraging for insects and nectar. Listen for its clear, twittering calls.
When to spot
Resident year-round. Active during the day. Easily observed throughout the year.
Despite being common, this species faces pressure from the cage bird trade, impacting wild populations.
