Where to spot
Found in Southern Africa, inhabiting rocky hills, mountains, and inselbergs, especially in drier, higher altitude regions.
How to spot
Search in rocky, mountainous terrain. Look for it perching on prominent rocks or foraging on the ground between boulders. Its generally dark appearance requires good light for positive identification.
