The Stripe-headed Rhabdornis is an endemic species to the Philippines, found on several islands. It is characterized by prominent streaking on its head and underparts.
Where to spot
Endemic to the Philippines, found on Luzon, Samar, Leyte, Negros, Panay, and Mindanao. Inhabits primary and secondary lowland and montane forests.
How to spot
Look for its prominent streaking on the crown, face, and underparts, along with its long, decurved bill. It often forages by creeping up tree trunks and branches. Listen for its distinctive high-pitched calls.
When to spot
Resident year-round. Active during the day. Can be observed throughout the year.
