The Hill Swallow is a resident swallow found in hilly and mountainous areas of Sri Lanka and parts of southern India. It is similar to the Pacific Swallow but is often found at higher elevations.

How to spot
Look for its blue-black upperparts, rufous throat and forehead, and paler underparts. Distinguishing it from Pacific Swallow can be challenging without knowledge of its elevational preference and subtle plumage differences.
