Where to spot
Highly adaptable and found in almost every habitat type with trees or substantial vegetation across Australia, Tasmania, and southern New Guinea. From arid shrublands to rainforests and suburban gardens.
How to spot
Listen for its loud, clear, and varied whistling song, which often includes mimicked calls. Look for its slate-grey back, pale underparts, and strong bill. It can be found foraging both in trees and on the ground.
