Where to spot
Widespread across Central and East Asia, including the Himalayas, China, and parts of Southeast Asia. It inhabits open woodlands, cultivated areas, gardens, and parks.
How to spot
Easily observed in parks, gardens, and open areas. Listen for its distinctive wheezing call and buzzing song. Look for it feeding on seeds on the ground or in trees.
When to spot
Visible year-round throughout its extensive range. Most active and vocal during the breeding season (spring/summer).
