Goeldi's Antbird is a medium-sized antbird with a rather uniform dark grey plumage and an inconspicuous pale orbital ring. It is a specialized ant-follower.
Where to spot
Inhabits the understory of humid lowland forests in the southwestern Amazon basin, particularly southeastern Peru, northern Bolivia, and western Brazil.
How to spot
Locate army ant swarms. Patience is required as they can be skulking. Listen for their distinctive, often whistled calls.
When to spot
Year-round resident. Most active during the early morning and late afternoon, especially when following army ants.
