Look for its slate-grey upperparts, white-barred underparts, and bright red cere and legs (in adults). There's also a rare black morph. Observe its agile flight as it hunts through vegetation, often making quick dashes.

Year-round, active during daylight. Often seen darting through vegetation or perching on exposed branches.
