The Sunda White-eye is a common and widespread species found across the Sunda Islands of Indonesia. It is a typical white-eye with green plumage and a prominent eye-ring.
Where to spot
Found across the Sunda Islands (Sumatra, Java, Borneo, Bali, Lombok, Sumbawa, Flores, Timor). Inhabits various habitats including forests, forest edges, gardens, and cultivated areas.
How to spot
Look for its bright white eye-ring, yellowish throat, and olive-green upperparts. Often found in active flocks, foraging for insects and nectar. Listen for its clear, twittering calls.
When to spot
Resident year-round. Active during the day. Easily observed throughout the year.
This species is a highly adaptable urban dweller, often seen in parks and gardens even in bustling cities within its range.
