The Chestnut-fronted Macaw is a medium-sized green macaw with a distinctive chestnut-colored forehead band and patches on its wings. It is the smallest of the 'true' Ara macaws.

Listen for their harsh, croaking calls. Look for them in pairs or small flocks flying over the forest canopy or feeding quietly in fruiting trees.
