Dense montane evergreen forests in parts of Southeast Asia, including Northeast India, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam.
How to spot
Listen for its clear, whistled song from deep within the forest. Patience is required to glimpse its distinctive blue forehead.
When to spot
Year-round resident. Most vocal and active in the early morning and late afternoon.
