The Black-fronted White-eye is a distinctive species endemic to the island of Buru in Indonesia. It is characterized by its dark forehead and prominent eye-ring.
Where to spot
Endemic to Buru Island in the Moluccas, Indonesia. Inhabits montane primary and secondary forests, often at higher elevations.
How to spot
Look for its distinctive blackish forehead, contrasting with a prominent white eye-ring and yellowish-olive body. Often found in mixed-species flocks, foraging actively. Listen for its high-pitched, twittering calls.
When to spot
Resident year-round. Active during the day. Best observed during mornings in high-altitude forests.
