The Black-billed Amazon is a medium-sized, predominantly green parrot endemic to Jamaica. It is distinguished by its dusky or blackish bill and relatively dark plumage.
Where to spot
Humid limestone forests and adjacent cultivated areas in Jamaica. Primarily found in the Cockpit Country and other protected forest remnants.
How to spot
Look for its green body and the dark, almost black bill. Listen for its distinctive loud, rolling calls. Can be shy and difficult to approach.
When to spot
Active throughout the day, often more visible in the morning and late afternoon. It is a resident.
