How to spot
Look for its plain brown plumage and upright posture. Watch for its characteristic sallying flights from a low perch. Listen for its soft 'twick' calls, especially when foraging.
When to spot
Best observed during its breeding season (spring/summer) in its northern range, or during spring and autumn migration and winter (late autumn to early spring) in its southern range.
