The Common Whitethroat is a widespread and familiar warbler, easily recognized by its grey head, distinctive white throat, rufous wings, and generally brownish upperparts. It has a lively, scratchy, and often hurried song, frequently delivered from an exposed perch. It favors scrubby habitats and hedgerows.
