The Fawn-breasted Honeyeater is a medium-sized, olive-green honeyeater with a distinctive fawn-colored breast, found in coastal areas of northeastern Australia and New Guinea.
Where to spot
Coastal mangroves, paperbark swamps, and dense rainforest edges in northeastern Queensland (Australia) and southern New Guinea.
How to spot
Look for it in dense coastal and swampy vegetation. Listen for its common, rather plain calls. Its fawn breast and small yellow ear patch are identification points.
When to spot
Active during daylight hours, often more visible during the cooler parts of the day.
