Spotted
The Aru Honeyeater is a relatively plain olive-green honeyeater found in the Aru Islands and parts of New Guinea. It is a forest dweller, foraging in the mid to upper canopy.
Where to spot
Lowland rainforests and forest edges on the Aru Islands and some adjacent parts of New Guinea.
How to spot
Look for it moving through the canopy and mid-story of tropical forests. Its plain plumage can make it difficult to spot, so listening for its calls is helpful.
When to spot
Active throughout the day, often more vocal in the mornings.
