Found across a wide band of sub-Saharan Africa, from West to East. Inhabits grasslands, savannas, and swampy areas.
How to spot
Look for the contrasting yellow mantle against the black body of the male. They are often seen flying low over grasslands or perching prominently on tall vegetation.
