Where to spot
Dense undergrowth of humid lowland rainforests, particularly in bamboo thickets or vine tangles, across western Amazonia (e.g., Peru, Brazil, Bolivia).
How to spot
Scan the dense understory carefully, watching for small, quick movements. Often found singly or in pairs. Knowledge of its subtle calls is helpful for detection.

Resident year-round. Most active in the early to mid-morning. Listen for their soft calls to help locate them.
